History
The Gulf Journal of Dermatology and venereology was established in 1994. Currently, Gulf journal of Dermatology and venereolgy is issued biannually in April and October.
Scope
The journal permits scientific articles interrelated to clinical or laboratory examination of relevance to medicine. Reviews, articles, case reports, brief communications, book reviews and letters to the editor are all considered for publication. Essential Dermatological studies are also published.
The Review Process
A peer-evaluation procedure has been adopted. All submissions are first monitored by editorial office staff to eliminate those of noticeably poor quality, with improper formatting, or in which the topic is not within our journal's scope..
Reviewers are selected for their established knowledge and their individual publishing and intellectual records. Individual reviewers are delegated to evaluate a given manuscript according to their own individual expertise. Each reviewer is sent on average 2 to 4 articles per year.
Roughly about 100 - 150 manuscripts are presented per year, including papers on unique research, review articles, case reports, descriptions of practice and letters to the editor. At this time, the rate of instant acceptance is less than 5%. Sixty-five percent are accepted after slight to major revisions, and 30% are discarded.
